В гр. Узункьопрю се осъществи първата откриваща прес- конференция по проект Превент/ CB005.1.11.165 изпълняван по първата покана за проекти на програма Интеррег-ИПП за Трансгранично сътрудничество между Бъргария и Турция съ-финансирана от Европейския Съюз, с Национален орган Министерството на Европейските въпроси в Турция.
В откриващото си слово кмета на община Узункьопрю адвокат Енис Ишбилен, подчерта важността на проекта, в рамките на който ще се инсталира Система за ранно предупреждение за опасност от наводнения на р. Ергене и Кърккавак дере. Това ще допринесе за предприемането на превантивни мерки особено за опазването на близките обработваеми площи от наводнения.
На срещата присъства и делегация от Българския водещ партньор водена от зам. Кмета на Община Димитровград г-н Яшо Минков. Г-н Минков на срещата също подчерта важността и необходимостта от изпълнението на проекта, в рамките на който в Димитровград община ще се изгради автоматична наблюдателна кула на сигнали от евентуални горски пожари.
На срещата взеха участие репортери от всички местни вестници и представители на общинския съвет, като на тях им беше представена подробна информация за проекта PREVENT.
Също така, по време на срещата се подписа договор за доставка и инсталиране на Системата за ранно предупреждение за опасност от наводнения между община Узункьопрю и избрания доставчик, след проведена тръжна процедура изпълнена в съответствие с правилата на PRAG на Европейския съюз.
Изграждането на системата се очаква да бъде завършена през Март 2018-та година.

A kick off meeting between the representatives of LP and PP2 was held in the premises of the Lead partner in Dimitrovgrad on 27.04.2017. The meeting lasted one working day. A local Driver,Project Coordinator and the Director of Environmental Control and Protection from Uzunkopru Municipality attended the meeting.
